SLIP/DOCK SALES, RENTAL and DRY STORAGE One unique benefit of being a Resident Member of DCYC is that you may purchase the use of a slip or dock. While prices for purchasing a slip/dock varies; there is Dock Maintenance Fee of $20 per slip/dock per month. As a member, if you plan to store your boat on the trailer at DCYC, there is an assigned Dry Storage area available for $10 per month for each assignment. It is the objective of DCYC that all slips/docks be owned by the membership. However, DCYC usually has possession of approximately 10% of the total available slips/docks. These slips/docks are made available for purchase or rental by the membership. There are usually 5% of the total available slips/docks available for sale or rent directly from the members, as well. The going rate for slip/dock sales &/or rental may be published monthly in the Hailer, the DCYC newsletter or the online classified section. Please make sure all purchase transactions regarding the transfer of record for slips/docks are handled through the DCYC Treasurer with coordination of the DCYC Asst. Harbormaster in order to assure a clear record. Details regarding slip/dock ownership are covered within DCYC Club Rules and Bylaws. RAPID MEMBERSHIP LAUNCH PROVISION Frequently potential new members are in the process of a company transfer, moving from a marina or taking delivery on a new yacht. Often under these conditions they would best be accommodated if they could start using the club facilities immediately without waiting until the next Board of Governors meeting. DCYC has provided an option for such cases. If you would like to accelerate use of the club prior to formal approval of membership by the Board of Governors, you may include with your application and initiation fee a full months dues including the Dock Maintenance fee and applicable taxes. You may use the club facilities, as a probationary member when such fees have been received by the Treasurer and after being notified by the Rear Commodore. You must include a full months dues and other fees regardless of the number of days left before the Board Meeting and only your initiation fee will be refunded in the event you are not granted membership. If you wish to take advantage of this option please notify the Rear Commodore immediately so the necessary parties may be advised.
